The war in Ukraine has driven millions to flee their homes into neighbouring countries such as Poland and Hungry. We are very concerned about the additional human rights violations and the horrific conditions that many LGBTQ+ Ukrainians will continue to face as they migrate to other Eastern European countries.

As the exclusive LGBTQ+ Sponsorship Agreement Holder (SAH) with the government of Canada, MCC Toronto will provide support to LGBTQ+ identified Ukrainians who are trying to come to Canada and those that arrive safely. Working with other member organizations we will collectively work to supply support and services including:

• • Orientation and peer support
  • Mental wellness and counselling sessions
  • One-on-one peer support
  • Legal and immigration information sessions
  • Financial literacy
  • Housing solutions
  • Employment support
  • Social assistance
  • Volunteer opportunities
  • Grants
