Each week
over 600 people gather at MCC Toronto to
celebrate the ways God is empowering us each day into joyful living. We
welcome you to join us in worship each Sunday to celebrate God's
acceptance and love of all people. And we pray that God's love is renewed
in you each day and that God's presence will remain with you through the
week to bring you peace and joy.
Regular Sunday
Services Worship services are held at 9:00am, 11:00am
and 7:00pm each Sunday. Announcements generally start 10 minutes prior to
each service. Check here
for directions and a map to MCC Toronto.
Phonic
Ears for hearing assistance are available at the sound booth in the
balcony and American Sign Language Interpreters are present at the right
front of the church during each 11:00am service.
The following information will help you in understanding some of the
components of our service of worship, particularly if you plan on
attending for the first time.
Prayers
During our celebration we lift up prayers in
various styles as we share our joys and concerns with God. During the
Prayers of the People, you are invited to remember prayer requests at the
appropriate time as you feel comfortable. We invite you to open yourselves
to these words and embrace this opportunity to seek and to share God's
loving presence.
We're here to be with you in
prayer. You can send in a request in any one of these ways:
- Through the prayer book in the Chapel (located at the
rear left of the main sanctuary)
- By writing your request on a Welcome! Card and
placing the card in the offering plate
- By calling 416-406-6228 ext 159
- By sending an e-mail to:
prayer@mcctoronto.com
Prayer works when you work it!!
If you would like to pray with someone
following the service, please approach one of the Deacons at the front
of the Sanctuary on the main floor. For support when you have spiritual
questions or concerns, please call the CAREline at 416-406-6228 ext 114
or email to:

Lessons for Life
We rejoice in the power of God's Word to be a positive
force in our lives. Lessons for Life are meant to inspire you in your
spiritual journey and to challenge you to find ways to put your faith
into action. Copies of Lessons for Life are prepared by our Audio
Ministry, and are available for a nominal charge from the Information
Centre located in the Social Hall. Some additional
information is sometimes added to our
Lessons for
Life
Pages.
Healing
Is there a place in you life where you or someone you
know is in need of healing? Or is there a situation you know of where
you need strength to be a bearer of healing for someone else?
During the Time for
Reconciliation and Healing you're invited to come forward alone or with a
friend to receive an anointing for healing. An Anointer will anoint your
forehead with oil and offer you a brief blessing. We all share God's love
and celebrate God's unconditional gift of peace and freedom. Sharing the Dream
On your first visit to celebrate with us, please do not
put anything in the offering plate as you are our guest and it will be
our pleasure to welcome you!
Fro those who
worship regularly with us, we thank you again for the use of your
resources so that we may continue to build the souls of people by
meeting their needs, and to heal real human hurts through the many
ministries of our church. Your abundant giving is making a difference in
the lives of people!
According to our ministry
plan, we need $44,167 per month to provide the programs and
services that care for so many people. Please
check here
for information on
how you can provide financial support to MCC Toronto including
e-donating. Forgiveness
Letting go of past mistakes can be one of the
hardest things to do. Releasing others from their mistakes can also be a
real challenge. God is with us always and everywhere, and God forgives
every mistake that we freely acknowledge. God is also present when we
need to do the hard work of fixing a friendship or relationship damaged
by a mistake.
During the Prayer of
Reconciliation, you are invited to name those areas in your life
where you have disappointed yourself or have been disappointed by
another. We all share Gods love, and here we celebrate Gods
unconditional acceptance of us, just as we are.
Communion
At MCC Toronto we celebrate an open Communion.
You do not need to be a member of this church or of any church to
receive God's gifts. On your first visit, you are especially welcome to
share in Communion. Parents and Caregivers are invited to collect their
children from the Nursery at this time so they can share in Communion
time with you and the congregation.
We serve
non-alcoholic wine at all stations. The Communion hosts are made of 100%
wheat. At the usher's direction, you may come forward, alone or with a
friend. When you come forward, a server will dip the host in the wine,
place the host in your mouth and offer a blessing like this: "Rejoice
that God is love and this love is with you always."
We believe that the elements of Communion are transformed
in community to be spiritual food for all people. We recognize and
celebrate the variety of beliefs about Communion present in our
membership. god desires to feed us and sustain us - that's why we
believe God provides each of us with the spiritual food we need in a
form in which we can receive it.
As others
receive, please maintain an atmosphere of calm reflection, and join in
singing the Communion hymns printed in the order of service.
Our Volunteers
At MCC Toronto, everyone plays a part in our
weekly celebration. At times in our service, you may notice a number of
people moving into position to serve. We extend a special thank you to
all who make our celebrations possible through their gifts of time and
talent. Coffee Hour
Each service is followed by a Coffee Hour in our social all at 10:00am
and 12:00pm. You are very welcome to join us for coffee, tea, juice or
water and a cookie. Anniversaries and Birthdays are celebrated at this
time on the first Sunday of each month. During these periods the
Information Centre is open for details about MCC Toronto programs
and events. You can also drop by the Volunteer Centre in the Social Hall
and speak with a friendly Volunteer Team member.
Special Services
Throughout
the year, a number of special services are held. These include a Pride
Day Service on Church Street prior to the Annual Pride Day Parade in
June, A Blessing of the Animals Service at our MCC Toronto home, and
Christmas services at Roy Thomson Hall. |
